When In Need and 76ers African & Caribbean Heritage Night
On March 9th, The When In Need Foundation hosted an African & Caribbean Night and Business Forum in conjunction with the NBA team, Philadelphia 76ers business development, corporate partnership, and marketing representatives. Other partners included the Mayor’s Commission on African & Caribbean Affairs, ACBC of Greater Philadelphia and Diplomatic Representatives from the Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Zambia and Mali Embassies. Highlights of the event included a Basketball game between the 76ers and Houston rockets in addition to African & Caribbean dance exhibits by the Drum Ensemble. When In Need pays Surprise Visit To SW Senior Center in Philly.
Let us take care of our Elders for they have come a long way…
On Jan 8th, 2015, The When In Need Foundation paid a pleasant surprise visit to the South West Philly Senior Center with loads of gifts for more than 100 seniors at the Center.
The visit was inspired by Ms Chetachi Ecton’s (Founder & CEO of When In Need) mother, Mrs Priscilla Nwoga.

For Paulette Cunningham, the Director of the Center, it was one of the most pleasant surprises for Seniors and their Staff in her 27 years of working at the Center. The Seniors were truly appreciative of the warmth and love showed to them.
Special Thanks to the entire When In Need Foundation team of volunteers who helped with the distribution of the gifts and the staff members at the Senior Center.

On November 19th, When In Need Foundation presented educational scholarships to recipients from 4 Philadelphia area Schools at St. Francis De Dales School, John Hallahan Girls Catholic School, City School and The Roman Catholic School at the Enterprise Center in Philadelphia.
The Keynote Speaker at the event was The Honorable Councilwom…an Jannie L. Blackwell – 3rd District and Chair, Education Committee who stressed the importance of a getting a good education, with special remarks from Councilman David OH – Minority Whip, Hon. Stanley Straughter and State Rep. Vanessa Brown.
Welcoming guests, Mr. Kayode Malomo, Project Director thanked all the guests for their commitment and stressed the importance of education as a key driver to unlocking human potential. Mr. George Onuorah, Media Director shared some insight into the organization’s global work on education while Mr. Godwin Nwoga introduced the entire team. Ms Chetachi Ecton, Founder and CEO reinforced When In Need’s commitment to supporting students education, in particular, women and children who are the most vulnerable segment of our society.
