When In Need Foundation Celebrates America’s 250th, Honors Children, and Recaps Recent Outreach

In its latest community update, When In Need Foundation (WIN) marked several milestones and ongoing initiatives. The organization celebrated the United States’ 250th anniversary, reflecting on values of freedom, unity, and service, while also honoring Children’s Day with a message encouraging young people to pursue education and their dreams with special thanks to the parents, guardians, and teachers who support them.

The update also featured a look back at WIN’s recent outreach, including a food distribution effort supporting local orphanages, as part of the foundation’s broader Mission of Mercy (M.O.M.) program a global initiative providing food, medical care, healthcare, and educational resources to schools, orphanages, and hostels in need around the world.

When In Need Foundation Celebrates Mothers and Reaffirms Its Mission of Compassion

The When In Need Foundation celebrated Mother’s Day by honoring the strength, resilience, love, and sacrifice of mothers around the world while reaffirming its commitment to serving vulnerable communities through compassion and humanitarian action.

In a special Mother’s Day message, the Foundation recognized mothers as the heartbeat of families and communities, applauding their unwavering dedication to nurturing hope, inspiring future generations, and uplifting those in need. Special tribute was paid to mothers who continue to overcome challenges while extending care beyond their own families to support others in their communities.

The Foundation also highlighted its ongoing Mission of Mercy (M.O.M.) Program, a global humanitarian initiative dedicated to providing essential resources including food, medical care, educational support, and basic necessities to underserved individuals and communities around the world. Through partnerships with schools, orphanages, hostels, and local organizations, the program continues to improve lives and expand access to healthcare, education, and humanitarian assistance.

High Chief (Dr.) Princess Chetachi Nwoga-Ecton empowered more than 300 widows and vulnerable women across the Owerri Zone, Imo State, with cash and food support. The event was held at the palace of the Eze of Ngor Okpala, HRH Eze Engr. Fredrick Nwachukwu, and drew community leaders, traditional rulers, and women’s groups from across the zone. Beneficiaries received food items and cash support to meet immediate needs and strengthen small-scale businesses, easing the economic burden faced by widows supporting their families. Community stakeholders praised the initiative as a reflection of her ongoing commitment to the welfare of vulnerable women and families in the region.

When In Need Foundation Provides Free Medical Care and Food Relief in Kaduna State

The When In Need Foundation, under the leadership of Founder and CEO High Chief Dr. Chetachi Nwoga Ecton, conducted a Mission of Mercy outreach in Kaduna State, providing free medical services and essential food supplies to vulnerable children, women, youth, widows, and families.

The outreach included the distribution of baby food, rice, noodles, and other relief items alongside free medical care, bringing much-needed support to underserved members of the community.

The humanitarian initiative was held in honor of the life and legacy of High Chief Ezinne Priscilla Chinyere (PC) Nwoga, whose compassion and dedication to helping others continue to inspire the Foundation’s work. Mission of Mercy Medical Outreach Honors the Legacy of High Chief Ezinne Priscilla Chinyere (PC) Nwoga

The When In Need Foundation, led by Founder and CEO High Chief Dr. Chetachi Nwoga Ecton, successfully hosted the Mission of Mercy Medical Outreach in loving memory of her late mother, High Chief Ezinne Priscilla Chinyere (PC) Nwoga.

The humanitarian outreach provided free medical care, food items, clothing, and essential support to over 5,000 residents, with a special focus on infants, children, and underserved families in Abuja.

The event brought together traditional rulers, healthcare professionals, volunteers, students, humanitarian organizations, and community leaders, demonstrating the power of compassion and unity in serving those most in need.

When In Need Foundation Launches Mission of Mercy Outreach During Media Briefing

The When In Need Foundation officially launched its Mission of Mercy Medical Outreach during a media briefing held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council Headquarters, Utako, Abuja.

Addressing members of the press, humanitarian partners, royal fathers, and invited guests, Founder and CEO High Chief Dr. Chetachi Nwoga Ecton announced the outreach as a tribute to her late mother, High Chief Ezinne Priscilla Chinyere (PC) Nwoga, whose life was defined by compassion, service, and generosity.

Dr. Ectachi Ecton described the initiative as more than a medical outreach—it is a movement dedicated to healing, hope, and restoring dignity to vulnerable individuals and families. She called on healthcare professionals, volunteers, organizations, and community members to join hands in extending lifesaving medical services and humanitarian support to those in need.

The Foundation also recognized the invaluable support of its partners, including the Abuja Charity Marathon, International Women Power Conference, NOGALSS, JMA FCT Branch, Hickman Foundation, HamLand, Joint Military and Civilian Widows, the Traders Association of Abuja, the National Union of Polytechnic Students, and many other organizations committed to advancing humanitarian service.

Princess Chetachi Ecton Launches The Legacy Project to Empower Africa’s Youth

High Chief Dr. Chetachi Nwoga Ecton unveiled The Legacy Project, a transformative initiative dedicated to empowering Africa’s youth through education, vocational training, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development.

The project aims to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities needed to become leaders, innovators, and job creators, particularly in underserved and rural communities across Africa.

Through educational support, scholarships, literacy programs, vocational training, and mentorship opportunities, The Legacy Project seeks to break the cycle of poverty while promoting economic independence and long-term community development. A key focus of the initiative is empowering women and girls by expanding access to education, leadership development, and career opportunities in STEM, business, and entrepreneurship.

The project also promotes sustainability by supporting agriculture, renewable energy, and environmental conservation initiatives that encourage self-reliance and economic growth.

Speaking on the vision behind the initiative, Dr. Chetachi Ecton emphasized the importance of investing in the next generation:

“We must create opportunities where there are none, provide hope where it is lost, and uplift those who have been forgotten. Our young people are the future, and it is our responsibility to give them the tools they need to succeed.”

NOVEMBER 30, 2024

The Early Christmas Giveaway & Educational Support Initiative, funded by Princess (Dr.) Chetachi Nwoga Ecton, brought hope, joy, and meaningful support to hundreds of people across Nigeria. Through the initiative, 370 vulnerable women received assistance, including 100 market women affected by a devastating fire and 270 widows, comprising civilians, military widows, and police widows. The program also made a significant investment in education by awarding scholarships to 10 primary school students, 10 secondary school students, and 10 young women enrolled in skill acquisition programs, while providing a special university scholarship to a young widow to help her pursue higher education. In addition, 500 notebooks were distributed to students to promote literacy and support learning. Through the When In Need Foundation, Princess (Dr.) Chetachi Nwoga Ecton’s unwavering commitment to education, literacy, and community empowerment continues to transform lives, inspire hope, and create brighter futures for underserved communities.

The When In Need Foundation (WIN) launched a major agricultural empowerment initiative in Southern Kaduna, distributing improved hybrid seedlings and farming resources to 10 chiefdoms as part of its mission to combat hunger and strengthen food security.

The program brought together traditional rulers, community leaders, and farmers for a lecture on sustainable development and the role of agriculture in reducing poverty and promoting economic growth. During the outreach, farmers received high-yield seedlings, including rice, maize, soybeans, beans, okra, and yam, along with fertilizer to improve agricultural productivity.

Founder and CEO High Chief Dr. Chetachi Nwoga Ecton encouraged beneficiaries to view the seedlings as an investment in their future, emphasizing that increasing local food production is one of the most effective ways to reduce hunger and build stronger communities.

The initiative reflects the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to empowering rural communities through sustainable agriculture, economic development, and food security. By equipping local farmers with improved farming resources, the Foundation continues to create opportunities for long-term growth and improved livelihoods across Nigeria.

When in need Foundation Foundation recently donated 15 birthday cakes to orphans and children in need in the community, some of whom had never had birthday cakes on their birthdays. It was a heartwarming occasion. Notebooks and other educational materials were also distributed to elementary school children.

On June 9th, the When In Need Foundation presented educational support scholarships at Lincoln Charter School and York Academy Regional Charter School as part of its education initiative in York, Pa. The awards supports summer creative programs and recognizes academic excellence, selfless service artistic abilities. 2 amazing students were recognized, Nohemi Diaz, 4th grade at Lincoln Charter and Michaelina O’rourke at York Academy. Congrats to the students and a big thank you to Anne Clark, Kate Daniels Carol Alvarnaz, staff, teachers , students and Richard Bailey of LockedIn Magazine for covering the event.

OCTOBER 6, 2020

The When In Need Foundation recently donated relief materials to IDP camps at Zango Kataf LGA, Kaduna State. The team was led by the CEO of When In Need Foundation, Dr. Chetachi Ecton (Tirham) and Hon. Monday Dikko representing the Jaba constituency.

The team also paid a courtesy visit to the Atyap palace and later proceeded to the IDP camp. Speaking at the presentation, Dr. Ecton prayed for peace and a speedy recovery for the displaced families. When In Need continues its mission of supporting the needy and disadvantaged communities in Nigeria.

Celebrating the Humanitarian Day of Action last October, The When In Need Foundation donated food to over a 1000 widows and over a 100 orphans in Jaba community of Kaduna. We gave out bags and boxes of rice, noodles, yam, tomato paste, salt and juice that can feed the community

JANUARY 15, 2020

The When In Need Foundation held a Hand Washing training to children and young adults on the importance of good hygiene. The training took place in Kwoi, Jaba local government in Kaduna State , Nigeria. Approximately 700 children from ages 5 to 15 participated in the training program.

According to the World Health Organization, millions of young lives could be saved with access to bar soap and hygiene education.

The When In Need Team lead by Franklin Chinedu Okere, educated the children and young adults on the advantages, technics of proper hand-washing, and some infections associated with improper hand-washing such as: Pneumonia and diarrheal disease (the two leading causes of death among children under 5 years old), Conjunctivitis, Respiratory infection, Hepatitis A and Nosocomial infections such as MRSA and E.coli.

We extend our gratitude to Clean World Foundation for their collaboration and partnership towards our efforts in educating many communities around the world in proper Hygiene and saving lives.
