When In Need Awards Educational Scholarships To 4 Philly Schools

Investing in the education of our youths is the key driver to helping them maximize their potential, one child, one pen, one book at a time. On November 19th, When In Need Foundation presented educational scholarships to recipients from 4 Philadelphia area Schools at St. Francis De Dales School, John Hallahan Girls Catholic School, City School and The Roman Catholic School at the Enterprise Center in Philadelphia. The Keynote Speaker at the event was The Honorable Councilwoman Jannie L. Blackwell – 3rd District and Chair, Education Committee who stressed the importance of a getting a good education, with special remarks from Councilman David OH – Minority Whip, Hon. Stanley Straughter and State Rep. Vanessa Brown. Welcoming guests, Mr. Kayode Malomo, Project Director thanked all the guests for their commitment and stressed the importance of education as a key driver to unlocking human potential. Mr. George Onuorah, Media Director shared some insight into the organization’s global work on education while Mr. Godwin Nwoga introduced the entire team. Ms Chetachi Ecton, Founder and CEO reinforced When In Need’s commitment to supporting students education, in particular, women and children who are the most vulnerable segment of our society. Families Celebrate Thanksgiving Early in Corona

The When In Need Foundation hosted its annual Thanksgiving dinner over the weekend. The organization invited hundreds of residents, who are not able to afford Thanksgiving dinner this year, to stop by with theirfamilies for a traditional holiday meal. Attendees also got to enjoy a performance by a clown and listened to music while they ate. “To buy a turkey a whole dinner for a family, I’m pretty sure not everyone can afford it,” said Corona resident AndreinaRodriguez. “You going to see so many people, family members, children that we’re going to make happy today,” said Chetachi Ecton, founder of the “When In Need Foundation”. “Once my mom told me about this, I was actually really excited. I was like, great my little brother gets to have a Thanksgiving dinner,” said Jennifer Diaz of Corona. Families got to leave with leftovers to take home.
